HUB YOUTH ACADEMY
Young people doing business for people and planet.
.
We see the emergence of a new generation of individuals who aspire to work for societal good, yet do not know how to effectively engage. At the same time, we see the emergence of a new generation of enterprises that create societal value beyond profit, yet are lacking talent in numbers to drive massive system change.
In 2014, I co-founded Hub Youth Academy. Hub Youth Academy will reduce this divide by building a pipeline to connect young, motivated individuals (18-25) to the social enterprise sector. In partnership with Impact Hub, Hub Youth Academy will provide innovative social enterprise training - one that is purpose orientated, collaborative and driven by networks. We see this as learning driven by start-ups, social entrepreneurs, and peer-to-peer mentorship.
Between 2014 - 2016, Hub Youth Academy engaged over 330 young people, created 18 jobs in social enterprise, and resultant enterprises raised £200K+ in investment. Hub Youth Academy was shortlisted for the SEUK Inspiring Youth Enterprise Award 2014.
